چکیده
Introduction: Radical prostatectomy is the treatment of choice for patients with organ-confined prostate cancer due to its oncological benefits and survival. With advancement technology, surgical techniques have been modified, robot-assisted radical (RARP) currently procedure most advanced technology. Due multiple advantages, such as short-term functional results, shorter hospital stay minimal invasiveness, it constitutes a valid therapeutic option consider this group patients.
Objective: To compare results obtained in urinary continence erectile dysfunction after RARP standard da Vinci® system 4 arms, between 43 who underwent said procedure, without preservation endopelvic fascia 2018, 68 same preservation, January 2019 February 2021, all at Hospital Carlos Andrade Marín, Quito.
Methodology: A retrospective longitudinal descriptive observational study was made, comparison surgery had but year 2019.
Results: One hundred eleven surgeries technique were performed. Forty-three (37.8%) made (61.3%) preservation.
At first month follow-up, 25 (58%) group, presented severe dysfunction, 11 (26%) moderate 6 (14%) mild 1 (2%) dysfunction. months 2 23 remained Of 54 (80%) incontinence, 3 (4%) completely continent making use technique. Furthermore, 9 90% complete 10% incontinence. Fifty six percent sexual postoperative month. However, pharmacological treatments, only 19% dysfunction.
Conclusion: safe minimally invasive technique, improves short long terms, respect function. Endopelvic could improve term

Evaluating urinary continence and preoperative predictors of urinary continence after robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.
PURPOSE We evaluated urinary continence using a validated questionnaire in a series of consecutive patients who underwent robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, and identified the preoperative predictors of the return to urinary continence. MATERIALS AND METHODS The clinical records of 308 consecutive patients who underwent robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy for cli...
متن کاملRobot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with early retrograde release of the neurovascular bundle and endopelvic fascia sparing
INTRODUCTION Robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RAP) is the dominant minimally invasive surgical treatment for patients with localized prostate cancer. The introduction of robotic assistance has the potential to improve surgical outcomes and reduce the steep learning curve associated with conventional laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. The purpose of this video is to demonstrate the early...
متن کاملErectile preservation following radical prostatectomy.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, representing approximately 25% of all new cancer diagnoses in the USA. For clinically localized prostate cancer, the gold standard for therapy remains radical prostatectomy. One of the main adverse effects of this procedure is erectile dysfunction, which can have a significant impact on the patient's quality of life. There are several mechani...
متن کاملEffect of Bladder Neck Preservation and Posterior Urethral Reconstruction during Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy for Urinary Continence
PURPOSE To report our results on urinary continence after bladder neck preservation (BNP) and posterior urethral reconstruction (PUR) during robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALP). MATERIALS AND METHODS Data from 107 patients who underwent RALP were compared on the basis of whether the patients underwent BNP and PUR, BNP only, or the standard technique (ST). In group A (n=31...
متن کاملSurgical Techniques to Optimize Early Urinary Continence Recovery Post Robot Assisted Radical Prostatectomy for Prostate Cancer
PURPOSE OF REVIEW A variety of different surgical techniques are thought to impact on urinary continence (UC) recovery in patients undergoing robot assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) for prostate cancer. Herein, we review current evidence and propose a composite evidence-based technique to optimize UC recovery after RARP. RECENT FINDINGS A literature search on studies reporting on surgical...
